Dynamic Balancing of Pumps

So what exactly is dynamic balancing? Well, quite simply put, when there’s an imbalance in a pump’s rotors, this causes an uneven distribution of mass; resulting in vibrations, additional force being applied to bearings and ultimately a drop in performance or even failure. Balancing is the process of correcting this imbalance of mass distribution by adding or removing compensating masses from the rotor at specific points—often through drilling.

However, before you can address any imbalance by adjusting mass, firstly the imbalance needs to be quantified—this is where we utilise our precision balancing machines.
